Reliability Sales Engineer – Condition Monitoring

The position

We are looking for an experienced and motivated candidate to join our team as soon as possible, working with our well-established customer base in the Northwest. You'll work with patented, world-leading technology and solutions for increased operational reliability and higher profitability in our customers' plants. The position may be remote for the right candidate.

You'll be responsible for selling condition monitoring solutions within the SPM Instrument product portfolio and ecosystem. Your main responsibilities include cultivating existing customer relations and acquiring new customers to provide vibration analysis and condition monitoring solutions. Our sales engineers are our customers' primary point of contact, answering queries, providing technical advice, and introducing new products or solutions.

Understanding customer goals and how SPM condition monitoring solutions can play into them, you'll identify and develop business opportunities and ensure that sales budgets and commercial objectives are achieved.  

Key responsibilities:
 
  • Meet monthly and annual sales goals
  • Support distributors, manufacturer reps, resellers, and SPM Solution Providers
  • Prepare monthly reports detailing ongoing projects and their status, projected sales amounts, etc.
  • Organize and manage onsite and remote sales calls
  • Assess competitors by analyzing and summarizing information
  • Cultivate sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential new accounts
  • Advance accounts by reviewing customer's ongoing needs; suggesting related new items and technical features
  • Promote SPM solutions in terms of quality, technology, and value
  • Provide customer quotations and proposals, administer customer accounts
  • Manage after-sales technical assistance, support services, and product education
  • Provide product and vibration analysis training
  • Support marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences, and other marketing events
  • Develop technical presentations and demonstrate how a product meets customer needs
  • Collaborate with other members of the sales team and other technical experts
  • Contribute customer case studies and news stories per year
  • Travel as needed to visit existing and potential customers, potentially 25%
  • Manage and understand customer requirements
Qualifications:
 
  • Ten years of vibration analysis/condition monitoring experience
  • Three to five years proven sales and customer relationship experience
  • An engineering degree is preferred
  • Self-motivated, with a demonstrated ability to work independently
  • Great collaboration skills with cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office – SAP experience preferred
